Whangarai Falls

Start: Ngunguru Road, 5km north east of the main city
The water falls 25m into a pool surrounded by rocks and bush. You can have a swim at the pool before coming back to the carpark. There's also a popular picnic ground at the river.
Mt Parahaki
Once a Maori fortification it's a good place to overlook the city and harbour.
